The Stoney Creek High School Winter Guards are Rochester Community School's competitive winter color guard ensembles. The members of the three SCHSWG teams perform a routine combination of dance, flag work, and weapon choreography set to a musical soundtrack. They perform in events sanctioned by the Michigan Color Guard Circuit at local high schools around the state.
SCHSWG first competed in 2015. In their inaugural season, the members of SCHSWG earned third place, fourth place, and first place at their first three contests. In the 2016 season, the SCHSWG was promoted to the Scholastic AA class at the first contest of the season and found success in this class. Due to a large increase in interest from students, Stoney Creek has been fielding two high school teams since 2017. SCHSWG's main focus is two-fold. First, and most importantly, to provide an educationally enriching experience to its members focused on equipment training and technique. Second, to provide an entertaining and engaging performance for every audience member. |
